Meeting Notes Summary Using ChatGPT (Example)

ChatGPT, as a large language model trained on a vast amount of text data, can perform different summarization tasks, such as summarizing books, documents, social media posts, emails, and even meeting notes.

Therefore, in this short tutorial, we will explore one of such summarization capabilities of ChatGPT. We will examine how to use ChatGPT to summarize a meeting note.

Get Sample Meeting Note

Here, we will copy a sample board meeting note found through a Google search. You can copy the text from this link as well.

Now that we have a sample meeting note to work with, we can ask ChatGPT to summarize it for us.
 

Summarize Meeting Note Using ChatGPT

First, though, we have to copy and paste the meeting note to the ChatGPT prompt. Next, we have to add our summary instructions at the bottom of the prompt. In this example, we will use the instruction below.

Prompt: Assuming I was not at the meeting, give me a summary of the meeting note above. Tell me the most relevant points from the meeting note.

Result:

As you can see, the summary result is quite good. ChatGPT did a good job returning the main points from the meeting note as instructed.
