What is the Statistics Globe Hub?

The Statistics Globe Hub is an ongoing learning program with one new module released every week and optional community features for questions and discussion.

Continuously learning new methods and tools is essential for anyone working in fields where statistics, data science, and programming play an important role. Staying up to date and expanding your skill set are more important than ever, given the rapid changes in the current AI era.

Not being overwhelmed by all the new tools while at the same time mastering the methodological and programming fundamentals can be quite challenging.

This is where the Hub comes in. It combines learning content on fundamentals with up to date tools and workflows, helping participants strengthen their core skills while staying current with recent developments.

The Statistics Globe Hub is neither a structured learning path nor a course with a fixed end date. Instead, it is designed as a continuous stream of focused topics that you can follow alongside your daily work to steadily build your skills over time.

One of the key features of the Hub is its community aspect. You can learn together and benefit from exchanging ideas and questions with other members. The goal is to keep the monthly price affordable, so that more people can join and strengthen the community.

You will find more details about what is included in the Statistics Globe Hub below.

The Hub helps you stay up to date and improve your skills, step-by-step.

  • Even if… you’re stepping into statistics and data science with limited experience.
  • Even if… you’re a beginner in R and Python and feel intimidated by their syntax.
  • Even if… you know some basic AI tricks but find more advanced tools overwhelming.
  • Even if… you sometimes think, “keeping up with new developments is too complicated.”

What You Get

The Statistics Globe Hub provides one new practical module every Monday and is designed as a continuous learning program with no fixed end date.

When you join, you get access to all modules released in that calendar month. You will also receive all future modules and keep access to them while your membership is active, so you can follow everything at your own pace.

Please note that modules from months prior to your initial registration are not included, so joining the Hub earlier allows you to access more content overall. You can cancel your Hub subscription at any time, and your access will remain active until the end of your current billing month.

Each module focuses on one concrete topic, method, or workflow. A typical module may include:

  • a recorded video explaining the topic
  • fully reproducible R and Python code
  • practical examples and demonstrations
  • exercises with solutions
  • community challenges
  • guest contributions
  • further resources

Not every module contains all of these elements, as the exact format depends on the topic. We will use R as the main programming language in most modules, but some modules will also use Python.

The Hub also offers community features that allow you to ask questions, share ideas, and exchange with other members. This includes an exclusive comments section below each module, as well as a LinkedIn chat group for more general discussions. However, participation in the community is entirely optional, and you can use the Hub purely as a learning resource if you prefer.

Here are more details on the structure of the Statistics Globe Hub.

Also, don’t worry if your favorite topic is not included yet. These are only the next modules, and many more will follow!

Meet Your Instructor: Joachim Schork

R Course Instructor

Hey, I’m Joachim Schork and back in the day, when I started my journey as a programmer and statistician, tasks like applying data analyses and implementing workflows in R felt like an impossible challenge to me.

After finishing my bachelor’s degree in Educational Science, I decided to focus more on programming and statistics, but when I started my master’s in survey statistics, I felt hopeless. Do you know that moment when you scream at your PC screen after several hours of unsuccessful coding attempts?

Since the start of my educational journey, I have used online resources to complement the university’s official learning materials. This has helped me a lot, but at the same time I felt like I was often spending too much time on a video or blog article because many of these resources don’t get straight to the point.

This was one of the reasons why I founded Statistics Globe more than eight years ago. Meanwhile, I had completed my master’s degree, got my first job at a national statistical institute in Europe, and was rewarded with an EMOS certificate that approves special knowledge in the field of official statistics. I had gained extensive knowledge in the area that I wanted to pass on.

However, I didn’t want to create endless tutorials that didn’t fulfill the needs of its users. Instead, I created straightforward content designed to guide users to solutions for their problems as quickly as possible.

Now, eight years later, Statistics Globe has gained:

20 million clicks
on the website

Statistics Globe Website Clicks

4 million clicks
on YouTube videos

Statistics Globe YouTube Channel Clicks

200 thousand followers
across social media platforms

This is such an incredible success, and I’m so thankful to everybody who participated in this journey! And please don’t get me wrong: I don’t want to brag about these numbers, but I think they can show you that my content works.

Statistics Globe Logo

The Statistics Globe Hub is a big milestone for me, as I always wanted to create an ongoing program with a long-term community. I love exchanging with other data enthusiasts, and I am looking forward to our discussions in our exclusive comments section and the LinkedIn chat group. I promise that I will invest all my passion and a lot of time into this program to make it an outstanding experience for all of us.

I’m not the only one who will support you in this program, though! The entire Statistics Globe team is ready to answer your questions, no matter if you have problems understanding any of the lessons or exercises, or if you have technical issues with the R and Python software, the example data, or the add-on packages we’ll use in the program.

At this point, I want to express my profound appreciation to all the team members at Statistics Globe for their tremendous support in developing this online program. Special thanks to Micha Gengenbach for his exceptional contributions. His efforts were crucial to the success of this program.

If you have further questions or anything else you would like to talk about, feel free to email me at joachim@statisticsglobe.com, write me via the contact form, or send me a message via my social media channels.

Clicking the button below will take you to the checkout page, where you can enroll in the Statistics Globe Hub. I’d be honored to have you in the Hub and to start learning together. 🙂

  • Hi Joachim. I suggest ordinary least squares and regression in general, for indicator variables. Sorry if this is too basic for other individuals.

    • Hi John,

Thank you for your kind comment and for the topic suggestion. This is definitely not too basic. The Statistics Globe Hub is designed to cover both fundamental concepts and more advanced methods and tools, and your suggestion fits very well with that idea. I will keep it in mind for future planning.

      Regards,

  • Hi Joachim

Love this idea! I’m curious how beginner friendly the Hub will be? Will topics accomodate beginners who may lack the fundamental basis required for some of the topics, or will beginners have to forfeit or miss out when it comea to more advanced topics? Will the topics be progressive, starting from covering the basics to more advanced as weeks progress, or will fundamentals be provided within each topic?

    Reply
    • Hi Kiara,

Thank you very much for your kind comment and for your great feedback. I’m glad you like the idea of the Statistics Globe Hub.

The Hub will include a mix of topics, from more beginner-friendly to more advanced ones. That said, I will always explain the basic concepts needed for each topic, so it should be possible to follow a module even if you do not yet have experience with that specific topic.

If questions come up, you can always ask them in the comments or in the LinkedIn chat group.

The modules will not be progressive in the sense of building on each other week by week. Each week will be a standalone module focused on a different topic.

Please also note that the final curriculum and the exact structure of the modules are not fully finalized yet. I am very happy to take suggestions from the community and integrate them where possible.

Let me know if you have any further questions. It would be great to welcome you to the Hub! 🙂

      Best regards,
      Joachim

The subscription is still open, and there are currently 23 out of 100 Early Bird seats left.

Since other registrations are still coming through, I’m not sure what might have caused the issue in your case. Could you please share more details about what happens when you try to register, or at which step the process stops? I’ll be happy to help you resolve it.

Looking forward to welcoming you to the Hub.

  • Hello Joachim,

I’m interested in learning the concepts covered on your website. I noticed that the first two modules have already been completed.

Could you please clarify what access I would receive with a monthly subscription? Specifically, would I get access to the following topics or modules:

    Feature Selection Using Random Forest

Data Visualization with tidyplots in R

Sample Size Calculation Using Power Analysis

Creating Reports with Quarto in R

Graphs and Statistics with ggstatsplot in R

I would appreciate it if you could explain what content or materials are included with the monthly subscription.

    Thank you!

    • Hi Ruby,

Thank you for your message and for your interest in the content.

With a subscription to the Statistics Globe Hub, you get access to all modules released from the beginning of the month in which you join.

Since the Hub launched at the beginning of March, joining now would give you access to all modules released so far, including the modules you mentioned.

Access to the modules is retained as long as your membership remains active.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

      Regards,
      Joachim

  • Hi Joachim,

    Thank you for your clarification.

Just to confirm my understanding: if I subscribe today in March, I will get access to all modules that have been published in March (including the ones already released). I will be able to access them until the end of March as long as my membership is active.

If I want to continue accessing the March modules or view new modules released in April, would I need to renew the subscription again in April?

    Thank you for your help.

    Reply
    • Hi Ruby,

      Yes, that’s correct.

If you subscribe in March, you will get access to all modules that have been published in March, including those that were already released earlier in the month.

You will retain access to these modules as long as your membership remains active. This means that if you would like to continue accessing the March modules or view new modules released in April, you would need to keep your membership active in April as well.

The Statistics Globe Hub is designed as an ongoing learning program with a monthly membership. New modules are released regularly, and active members can access all modules released from the beginning of the month in which they joined, as well as any new modules published while their membership remains active.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

      Best regards,
      Joachim
