I’m very happy to see your post on Facebook. I’m a medical student currently doing research. I really enjoy working with R and doing data analysis. I also hope to learn more about AI in the near future.
I found your new package very interesting. Unfortunately, my English is not very strong, and I may need a few days to try and fully understand how to use it. I hope it can help me save time, especially in understanding data and creating visualizations like these.
I also believe it could be very helpful for teaching my students as well. Thank you for your great work!
Hi Lam,
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I’m glad to hear that you are using R in your medical research and that my content is helpful to you. I’m also happy to hear that you are considering using it for teaching.
All the best with your research, and feel free to reach out if you have questions.

Hello. How can I use this program for the calculations (river flow)?! Thank You in advance!
Hi Gulnoza,
Thanks for your message.
River flow analysis is not one of the main topics of the newsletter. However, many of the statistical methods and programming techniques that are explained there can also be applied to this type of data.
For example, you can use tools in R or Python to analyze time series, visualize trends, build models, or perform statistical tests on river flow measurements.
So while the examples may come from different fields, the underlying methods should still be very useful for your applications.

Joachim

Hi Joachim,
I came across your post on LinkedIn and really liked it. It made me feel that I could learn a lot from your experience in data science.
After migrating and pregnancy, I had to rethink my academic path. My original interest was in geometry and mathematical research, but I started looking for a direction where I could still stay close to mathematics while also finding more practical opportunities. For the past year, I have been learning data analysis and machine learning, and I enjoy it a lot, although I know there is still so much more to learn.
I have always liked working on research-related topics and spending time deeply understanding problems. I would be very grateful if you could give me any advice on how to find my direction in data science, especially as someone with a mathematics background.
Hi Dalileh,
Thank you very much for your kind message, the great visualization, and for sharing your background.
It sounds like you have already taken an important step by exploring data analysis and machine learning. In my experience, a strong mathematics background can be a major advantage in data science because it helps you understand concepts more deeply rather than just applying methods.
It is difficult for me to give very specific advice on which direction you should choose. Data science is a broad field with many different areas. My recommendation would be to continue exploring different topics, working on practical projects, and paying attention to which subjects you enjoy the most. Over time, you will naturally discover the areas that fit your interests and strengths best.
I wish you all the best on your journey and hope you continue enjoying the learning process.
Regards,
Joachim
